A week with Legends of Slots
I didn't expect to keep Legends of Slots on my phone past the first evening, but here we are a week later. It's a casual game built around spinning reels of hand-drawn symbols, and the trick it pulls is making a very simple loop feel cosy rather than empty.
The structure is more clever than it first looks. Each themed world — the jungle one is my favourite — has a progress track, and lining up matching symbols pushes it along. When the track fills, you get a short animated scene. Those little payoffs kept me coming back for one more tap.
Controls are a single button to spin and a swipe to move between worlds, so it's genuinely a one-thumb game. I played it mostly in small gaps: a few spins in a queue, a couple while dinner cooked. That's where it shines. Long sessions do get repetitive, and I'd stop recommending it to anyone chasing depth.
My advice is to treat it as a wind-down, not a main game. Set a loose goal like unlocking the next world's scene, enjoy the art, and put it down. On those terms it's one of the more charming casual games I've tried this season.
